Home · Napa Valley wineries · Chimney Rock Winery
Chimney Rock is a Cabernet-centered estate in the Stags Leap District, one of Napa Valley's best-known areas for structured, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cape Dutch-inspired architecture is immediately distinctive, but the tasting conversation is primarily about terroir: how different vineyard blocks, soils and exposures within the estate influence Cabernet and other Bordeaux varieties.
The Taste of Terroir provides the most accessible introduction and typically combines estate wines with cheese. Single Vineyard tastings move deeper into site-specific Cabernet, while the Vineyard Odyssey expands the visit beyond the tasting room and into the property itself. On limited schedules, production or barrel-focused experiences can give guests a behind-the-scenes view of winemaking and a chance to sample wine before bottling. The overall format is more educational and wine-focused than entertainment-driven.
Chimney Rock is particularly strong for Cabernet drinkers who want to compare vineyards rather than brands. It also pairs naturally with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Clos du Val and Pine Ridge, making it easy to build a day without leaving the Silverado Trail/Stags Leap area. Because most experiences are around 90 minutes, two or three serious Cabernet stops are plenty.
